Camp Counseling and Kids Coming to Christ

And just like that the first week of camp is in the books, and what a week it was. Started off with some butterflies of getting back into that counselor role/mindset but as soon as the kids got there it was pedal to the metal all the way to the end. Some real quick highlights were bellyflopping off the high dive, beautiful double rainbows, amazing co-counselors, and the opportunity to pour into kids the good news and, in one special moment, lead one kid to Christ. God continues to remind me of how blessed I am; that even me, a sinner and a weak vessel of God, can be used for his glory and his goodness to spread. It’s very humbling, but also in a way extremely comforting that God is in control and that his plan will come to fruition.

I want to take a quick second to give a big thank you to all those that have been giving these past two weeks including Mike and Amy Gourley, the Cashman’s, the Cook’s, the Tessar’s, Joe and Dena Cade, Isaiah Rife, and the Anonymous donor. Thank you so much for y’all’s support it means a lot!

As I prepare for another week in a more behind the scenes role as a program staff, I look forward to taking more time to pour into the staff I’m around. Along with continuing to enjoy this awesome Christian community God has currently placed me in.

Some prayer requests I have right now that y’all could be praying for are:

  • for good health and strength to get through this summer
  • a joyful servant’s heart as I seek to work cheerfully even in the harder days
  • for all the kids that have come to Christ this week and the weeks to come at camp that they would remain faithful and be surrounded with strong communities to build up their faith

Psalm 20

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and give you support from Zion!
May he remember all your offerings
and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! Selah

May he grant you your heart’s desire
    and fulfill all your plans!
May we shout for joy over your salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!

Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with the saving might of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.

O Lord, save the king!
May he answer us when we call.

Again, thank you for your support in this journey and for walking alongside me in witnessing the work of God as he demonstrates his plan in my life. Till next time!
