“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” Isaiah 43:2
These past two weeks have been a mixture of overflowing praise, spiritual exhaustion/mental rest, and a growing excitement for what lies ahead of me. This excitement, at least recently, has been spurred on by an awesome landmark of 75% of my funds being raised! I’m just still in awe of how good God is in meeting my needs and pushing this door for missions open even further. So so cool. Also, just want to again say a massive thank you to all that donated these previous two weeks including: The Wasatch Moutain Church, Mason and Mylea, John Sweeney, Anna Gourley, Kelly Robertson, Ben Long, Savannah Cade, Dena Proctor, John and Sarah, Josh Dorrity, Kathy Underdown, David, the 7 Anonymous donors, and all the people that came and gave at the pancake breakfast and Bakesale at Imago Dei Church. God bless all of you!
On the topic of mental rest, these past two weeks God has graciously given me some much-needed rest both physically and mentally. This came from the change up in roles from counselor to program staff bringing a lot less responsibilities in terms of camper’s interactions and more operational and mundane camp tasks like serving meals, doing dishes, and DJ’ing (which is like my absolute favorite thing). With this new role I also had a lot of free time to either hangout with the other staff or seek God in my quiet times which unfortunately I did a poor job of especially this past week. And even in the times I got into the word it just felt mundane or stale. I felt like action-wise I was living for God outwardly and striving to live for God inwardly but was just stuck in a rut not getting anywhere. Thankfully right as this week was coming to a close God worked through someone giving me a book to show my soul that there is peace even in the weariness. That even when it feels like you’re moving nowhere, just like the disciples in the boat during the storm, God is coming to you, silencing the storm in your life, and giving you security and peace.
This is both me encouraging y’all and myself but be joyful in knowing that God is with you, lifting you out of the swirling waters of your life, your drama, your anxieties, your problems, and bestowing upon you a deep peace that no event or season of life can ever take away from you. Come back to that and seek him as he seeks to restore you, uplift you, and give you that peace.
Following off of last week some new prayer requests specifically for this coming week/weeks are:
- A God centered week, planted in peace, that I may pour into the high school campers that are coming this week as I take up the mantle of counselor again.
- For all those that are lost and seeking after other sources of fulfillment that God would pierce their hearts with his love.
- For the staff at my camp to maintain endurance both physically and spirtually as they continue to serve these kids.
Once again thank you so much for joining me in this endeavor and I hope it brings some encouragement to each and every one of you as we all continue to run the race until we see our Lord Jesus face to face once again and settle into that final peace for eternity with our God. God Bless and have an amazing week!
